Terms of Service

Last updated: April 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using OutdoorLog ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

OutdoorLog is a professional logbook application for outdoor educators, guides, and instructors. The Service allows users to log outdoor sessions, track career statistics, and export their records.

OutdoorLog is operated by Dylan Lister (ABN: 77 147 379 519), trading as OutdoorLog.

3. User Accounts

You must create an account to use OutdoorLog. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account.

You must provide a valid email address. You may not create accounts using automated methods or with false information.

4. User Content

You retain ownership of all content you create in OutdoorLog, including log entries, reflections, and templates. By using the Service, you grant us a limited licence to store and process your content solely to provide the Service.

You are responsible for the accuracy of information you enter. OutdoorLog is a personal record-keeping tool, not a certification or verification system.

5. AI-Powered Features

OutdoorLog uses AI (via Anthropic's Claude API) to extract session details from voice transcripts. AI extraction is provided as a convenience and may contain errors. You are responsible for reviewing and correcting any AI-extracted data before saving.

Voice transcripts are processed server-side and are not stored after extraction is complete. AI usage is subject to daily limits.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

7. Data & Privacy

Your use of OutdoorLog is also governed by our Privacy Policy. We do not sell your data. You may delete your account and all associated data at any time from the Settings screen.

8. Service Availability

We aim to provide reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance, updates, or reasons beyond our control.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time.

9. Limitation of Liability

OutdoorLog is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any loss of data, inaccuracies in AI extraction, or any damages arising from your use of the Service.

OutdoorLog is a personal logbook tool. It does not constitute professional certification, qualification evidence, or legal documentation of any kind.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. We will indicate the date of the most recent update at the top of this page.
