Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 2026

Overview

OutdoorLog ("we", "us", "our") is a professional logbook app for outdoor educators, guides, and instructors. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data.

This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we use it.

Data We Collect

Account data: Email address and password (hashed) when you create an account.

Log entries: Session data you enter including activities, locations, dates, durations, roles, groups, weather, and reflections.

Voice transcripts: When you use voice logging, your audio is transcribed and processed to extract session details. Audio is not stored — only the resulting text is kept.

Location data: If you grant location permission, your approximate position is used to suggest nearby place names and fetch weather data. Your GPS coordinates are not stored.

Usage data: We track AI usage counts (number of voice extractions per day) for rate limiting purposes.

How We Use Your Data

Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, which provides encrypted storage and row-level security. Each user can only access their own data.

AI processing is handled by Anthropic's Claude API via a server-side proxy. Your Anthropic API key is never exposed in the browser.

Third-Party Services

We do not sell your data to any third party. We do not use advertising trackers.

Data Deletion

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from the Settings screen in the app. This permanently removes your account, all log entries, and all templates.
